In this episode, the So-Called Oreos have a very interesting conversation about... soulmates! The hosts go into detail about the four types of soulmates we encounter in our lifetime after a quick discussion about Love is Blind (first 12 minutes). The women attempt to describe the indescribable feeling of what separates the relationship with a soulmate verses relationships with everyone else. They discuss how the amount of time knowing someone can contribute to finding your soulmate, how soulmates are temporary, how you can have more than one and how some people block themselves from finding soulmates. IT'S FEBRUARY....a.k.a Black History Month! In this episode, So-Called Oreos gives a little history on how Black History Month came about and share their personal stories on experiencing Black History lessons in all white schools. Janae recounts a memory on being reprimanded for giving a school report on Malcolm X and Amari discusses the time she saw brutal images of slavery as a child. This leads to the topic of questioning how adults should approach sensitive topics like slavery with children. Later, the four women explain what they wished they learned during Black History Month as well as what they hope Black History Month looks like in the future. Lastly, Janae reveals a Tinder horror story and Kia checks in with everyone’s progress on their 2020 goals.

In this episode, the So-Called Oreos podcast discusses moving between black and white spaces based off the concept of "double consciousness" by W. E. B. Du Bois. Rachel speaks on the challenges of coming from a majority black community to going to a PWI for school, Kia explains how she has come to terms calling her all white town "home" after 20 years, while Amari and Janae express not feeling a deep connection to their hometown and having internal displacement. The four women talk about code switching in order to survive in corporate America as well as to fit in with black people who already have a preconceived notion of you. The question arises whether you can be 100 percent yourself with a nonblack partner before Rachel gives tips on mentally preparing yourself before entering a new space and Janae addresses a letter on making friends as an adult when all your friends are in relationships. The hosts start off by giving the history of New Year's resolutions, why only 8 percent of us achieve our goals, and Amari tells us why she doesn't believe in it. Kia shows her nerdy side and gives tips on how to achieve your resolutions by using SMART goals and the four explain why you don’t need to have an elaborate goal for the new year in addition to manifesting your dreams. After discussing their own personal goals for the year as well as goals for the black community, the women give some carer advice about asking for more money at work and introduce a new shoutout segment.

The conversation revolves around how black people celebrate the holidays and how it may different from our white counterparts. Rachel and Amari explain how they celebrate in a Caribbean household and the four debate if potato salad is only seasonal and what goes on yams. They later discuss the history behind Kwanzaa and why many black Americans don’t celebrate as well as how to deal with grief during the holidays.
